Who we Are

Prophetic Women Religious at the Service of Transforming Mission

Zambia Association of Sisterhoods plays a critical role in advancing holistic human development through service delivery, advocacy, spiritual formation, and community empowerment. Rooted in the Gospel values and the Social Teachings of the Catholic Church, ZAS in collaboration with congregations often operates at the grassroots level, reaching vulnerable and marginalized populations.

Founded in 1958, ZAS has grown from 12 congregations with 225 sisters to over 46 member congregations with approximately 2000 sisters, both Indigenous and International Missionary Sisters.
