Program Overview

Sister Led Youth Empowerment Initiative

Sister Led Youth Empowerment Initiative project is a Hilton funded project implemented by the Zambia Association of Sisterhoods to equip youths with vocational skills, empower them to create and participate in social enterprises. The project is implemented through Congregations of Catholic Sisters. The goals of the project is to contribute and ensure the
supported youths are “Resilient, thriving and self-reliant youths in target community”.

The project is currently its second phase. The project aim is to contribute to the the youths aged 15 -30 becoming resilient, self reliant and thriving in the target communities through the following strategic objectives/results;

  • Provisions of Skills Training by Congregational Skills Training Centres
    Congregational Skills Training Centres engage in production and provisions of goods and services
  • Formation of the Network for Sisters under the Sister-Led Youth Empowerment
    Initiative program
  • Support Congregations for Mega business in a viable industry/sector

Youths are able to gain skills in Electrical Technology, Catering, Food Production, Fashion and Design, Plumbing, Agriculture and many more skills that improve their lives at Training Centres run by Sisters.
